Lola
2011 - 2025
What started as a Nursing school study break browsing Craigslist, led to a lifetime of love. Lola has been adored from the moment she was brought home in her purple, kitty-cat collar. Her grandparents carried her outside until she could carry herself — when she couldn’t carry herself, we carried her again. Her uncle gave her a voice and she used that voice often; Recently it was reserved for her window talks with front door delivery men. “She just wants to be bad”, we’d say. From digging for chicken trash to daily crock-pot chicken, Lola experienced this life in a way that many only dream of. I will be forever grateful for every life experience I’ve had with her by my side — Every slow morning coffee, every new city or state explored; The lessons we learned together and the quiet comfort only we could share.
Lola has been my constant in a life of constant change. She has allowed me to learn the importance of presence and the truth that love does not need words. I didn’t think Lola could be any more loved… Until I met Jay. Jay loved Lola as fiercely as I did, and seeing them together reminded me what real love looks like — patient, joyful, and unconditional.
To our day-ones, the new friends we’ve made along the way, and those few Seattle-area foes, thank you for loving Lola and being a part of the lasting memories that we will always reminisce.
With love,
Zara
