This memorial Is part of his Pet of the Month award in August 2025 - Lovebug is a Chiweiner who was adopted as a puppy from Humane Colorado (Formerly DDFL) on January 7, 2020. He’s been a patient at Altos since Jan 2020. He was named Lovebug because he seems to love everybody. Lovebug also goes by Dude, Duder Doo, and Dudey Doo. He was a dedicated Dutch Pup. All i needed to say was let’s go for a ride and he was ready to visit his Dutch friends. He likes to go on car adventures with his mom and has travelled to Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon on numerous trips. His favorite activities are Paddleboarding/swimming in Montana at his grandpa’s house, playing with his German Wirehaired Pointer cousins, and exploring the trails in the woods where he’s made some interesting friends. He also has a feline brother named Princeton who is his afternoon siesta partner and likes to wrestle with him. Lovebug also enjoys watching TV especially with the grandkids because there tends to be animals that appear on screen that he can bark at. He also prefers to use the grandkids carseat as his personal throne in the car. Lovebug was also by his mom’s side through chemotherapy/radiation therapy and was instrumental in ensuring she got up everyday and has been by her side through her recovery and remission. Lovebug was diagNosed with Congestive Heart Failure in April 2025 at the age of 5 - at that time he was given 1 yr estimate life expectancy. We were fortunate to make 2 trips to Montana this summer/fall and he was my best friend my companion. As with all pet parents we always WISH FOR more time.
